Conventional fans use fast-spinning blades to distribute air – but blades cause unpleasant buffeting. Dyson invented the bladeless fan to solve this problem. Dyson Air Multiplier™ fans use Air Multiplier™ technology to amplify surrounding air, giving an uninterrupted stream of smooth air. Air from around and behind the machine is drawn into the airflow through the physical processes of inducement and entrainment.
Dyson engineers were tasked with demonstrating how these processes work. They used a balloon and many Dyson fans. See the results.
